Sectional Sofas in Modern Living Room Design

There are certain advantages and disadvantages of both leather and fabric. Modern sectional sofas usually come in either leather or fabric, or a combination of both, though the last one is rare and mostly custom-made. Last, but not least, it is a lot easier to match the price of the sofa with your budget it you choose to go sectional. Besides, a sectional sofa can give use to one of the corners of the living room, which is usually abandoned or not fully utilized.

The invention of the sectional sofa was especially useful for the small-size apartments or condos, where the traditional sofa would not sometimes even make it through the entrance door. You can create our own silhouette by moving the pieces around and re-design your living room at your will and not get stuck with the boring rectangular-shaped form of the regular sofa, which can only be fitted at one place of the living room. You can customize your sofa by picking and choosing sections of it. In comparison to the traditionally shaped modern sofa, modern sectional sofa gives you more positioning possibilities. Modern sectional sofa quickly became one of the very popular selections in the modern living room furniture design.

Today, the new invention came into the picture: sectional sofa. The most common selection, used successfully for years, was a combination of the sofa, loveseat and/or one or two armchairs. Modern living room furniture, as well as traditional living room furniture usually represents separate pieces of furniture placed throughout the room to create a certain design.

Luxury Dining Room Ideas by Italia

A lingering hint of contemporary gothic pervades these luxury dining room by italia. Black and white color schemes throughout simply demand attention… hints of sparkle add glitz and glamour. Imposing chairs and large tables offer an unexpected combination of angles and curves; the jutting metallic legs of the furniture are topped with ball-shaped protuberances. But this is a very modern gothic concept – each dining room decor idea offers startling contrasts. In the first look, it is the nature references that catch you off guard. A long painting of a reptile and a poised-to-pinch crab sculpture add an element of danger. Next, a huge black and white photo portrait contrasts with the highly ornate, delicately sculpted ceiling. Elegant, contemporary crystal chandeliers deliver a dazzling, heavy opulence to the dining rooms. Decor that is once seen and never forgotten… we love the dramatic impact and tantalising detailing.

Luxury Bedroom Design

Walls can be decorated or painted in several motifs that has a more regal approach, consisting in some bright colors like red. Pinstripes are also the same, mainly contrasting from gold to silver and bronze. This is a more common motif that can be found in English luxury bedroom design for castles and the like, while others would resort to using wallpaper that bear the country of origin's coat of arms. As for decorations, it's all about hanging expensive paintings from various artists or replicas. A modern approach is the usage of stainless steel and at times plastics, which gives it a more eccentric look. There have been a few designs using glass in various patterns, something that would reflect light during nighttime and show the shape of the etched glass. This can also apply to some other furniture like expensive looking drawers, armoires and mirrors.

Oriental Themed Bedroom with Traditional Japanese Design

The futon bed is in keeping with the oriental theme and the bedding is simple and unadorned. The addition of red as a bedcover at the base of the bed grounds the bedding as it does have the appearance of floating over the base otherwise. The bolster cushion in the same fabric and the cushions on the chair to the left balance the single addition of color in this bedroom space.

Home Theater Room Design

The most important thing to keep in mind when designing your home theater is to let your equipment be your guide. To get the maximum effect out of your equipment, you need to build around your equipment. For instance, the larger your screen, the farther away your seating area needs to be. You also have to keep in mind where the best locations for your speakers are to give you true surround sound. Not surprisingly, the central speaker should be lined up perfectly with the seating area, with the surround speakers behind the seating area just to the left and right. You should also consider where in your house you should locate your home theater. Your home theater will not work as well in every room in your house. The best place for your home theater will likely be the basement. When you are in the basement, you will not have to worry about preventing light from coming in and taking away from your picture, and you will be able to insulate the rest of the house from your theater's sound. Also, your basement will likely give you the most flexibility in terms of placing your components.

Dining Room and Study Makeovers

The dining room is an area where you can have a great time decorating, it is a place that you only spend a limited amount of time, but it is quality time. You can make the decoration more elaborate and striking. The furniture you use (or currently have) often starts the theme or style of the room. If you have elaborately upholstered dining chairs then you lend more to heavy drapery for your windows and deeper and richer wall colors. If you have solid timber chairs and table then the look could be more rustic or traditional with warm honey colored walls to enhance the natural glow of the timber or wood and wrought iron candelabra to add some drama to the table.

Designing Dining Rooms

Dining rooms seem to be the one room in the house that goes in and out of fashion. When I was young, having a separate dining room was something special. Now the open plan dining area seems to be the fashion. I suppose it means that you can move the furniture around with much more ease. It is more difficult to change a dining room into a living room for example. The dining room basically consists of a dining table and a quantity of chairs. Depending on the space available, a buffet, dresser or some sort of serving table is often included. So how do you decorate a dining room? Some people love to have an area rug under the table to define the dining space, this works well when you have an open plan dining space, others love the in fashion at present elaborate chandelier at the center of the table or others more subtle pendant lighting.Whatever type of dining room you have we will provide you with ideas on how to decorate it, and later we will follow up with general table settings and seasonal table settings.

Designing Living Rooms

Living rooms are the room in the house for entertaining guests, retiring at night to relax and read a book, watch tv or a movie, listen to music and more. So you can see why there is so much to consider when you choose to design your living room. There are multiple spaces within one space that need to be designed. More often than not, the television becomes the focal point of the living room. This is great if you spend all your time watching TV, but not so good if you want to make your living room multi functional. Some people have the luxury of having a family room, here they keep the television and leave the living room for more formal occasions and entertaining. Whatever the case, the living room is often the room in which people judge our design taste! So the living room should portray you and your family's personality, what you are interested in, your collections, your artwork, your travels, all the things that make your living room feel like home and comfortable to you. It should house all the things that you love to have around you. Not things that you think you should have because they are in fashion or the style of the moment. So take a look at these articles to get some ideas for decorating and planning your living room
